Sponsor | lerryn | Apr 19, 3:56pm | | what is actually needed is a quick and easy method for appointing say a temporary mod in the case of owner/mod absence. There are a few groups where the owner has not logged in to SU for a number of months, no mods appear to be active, so the group is rudderless! |

There was recently a problem in a forum, the owner is absent. First I tried to contact the mods. When that didn't work, I resolved the problem within a day.
I believe we're on the right track with what's currently being discussed. :) |

Good ideas such as those mentioned here get brought up time and again but with passage of time they get treated as a "new" idea to be considered "later on", and later on, and later on... |

Seems like a good idea to me. (granted, I don't own any groups so I don't know for certain what other rights, if any, an owner would have besides banning users) |

| Sponsor | tigerdragonbrand | Apr 21, 2:02pm | | All mods used to be able to ban members. They just couldn't make changes to the forum colors, description, etc. I remember the day those privileges were taken away, and why - tho I shan't go into it now. ;) But I will say that it was pretty near 3 years ago now, and things have really changed on SU. I don't think it should go back to where all mods can ban members, but allowing the owner to designate maybe one or two, sure would be helpful. :) |
